Service Ecosystems Management for
Collaborative Process Improvement

Two PhD scholarships as part of a project funded by the
Australian Research Council, SAP and Queensland Government

Scholarship Description
Streamlining cross-organisational processes based on service-oriented solutions is seen as a promising way of improving organisational performance. However, an overarching methodology for enabling large service-oriented solutions, also known as service ecosystems, is still missing. This project seeks to provide a framework and relevant methods for consistent definition of services, design of user-centred service repositories, corresponding incentive and accountability structures, and efficient service discovery mechanisms in service ecosystems. The project will result in the design, test and prototyping of a cross-agency service ecosystem within Queensland Government.

Two APAI (Australian citizens and permanent residents only) scholarships are offered for study to be undertaken at Queensland University of Technology.

Availability
Two PhD scholarships are offered.

Payment Information
The value of the scholarships is AUD25118 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

Research Information
The scholarships are for candidates from one of the following fields: Information Systems and Information Retrieval. Knowledge in service-oriented architectures and business process management/modelling is essential. It is required that the study starts no earlier than 30 September 2006 and no later than 31 December 2006.

Eligibility
The scholarships are for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Masters or equivalent.
